HANDMADE SKETCHBOOKS WITH NAME DESIGN
Black Square Composition Challenge
MS Art 2 students created six different compositions using only squares. Each composition expresses a principle of design ( emphasis, balance, movement, variety, pattern, and contrast). This activity developed students fluency (ability to express ideas in a different ways) and originality (finding different solutions to a challenge).

SOFT SCULPTURES
The doll is a universal art form; spanning time and cultures. For this reason, doll-making is engaging and meaningful. Students analyzed dolls from diverse cultures and time periods and also looked at contemporary fiber artists.
Students learned the valuable, but often unappreciated skill of hand stitching.
